Yeah I Think We Could Be Nuts

Dr. Mad Scientist was offered the Mt. Sinai position. He'd be making twice the amount he made in Michigan. But that area of the country costs twice as much to live in. So hey we'd be breaking even right.

I'm searching for places to live now.

He hasn't officially accepted the job, but there's a very damn good chance now that we could end up like this:

Oof. Most-Stressful-Move-Ever!!!

I'll post Kootchie updates and knitting news soon.

Oh my god! I've got it! We'll live in bus lockers! Screw trying to find an apartment!

Congratulations! (You'll be much closer to me - that's a plus, right?)

Well, a job's a job! And I would guess that Mt Sinai must be considered a great position, which will help in the future...... So what if it means living in a one room apartment for a couple year? (just kidding!)

Rock on! I'm so coming to visit you if he decides to take the job! (But of course I'd come visit you where ever you landed) Woo! We could go see Conan O'Brian together!
Oh my now I really want to watch The Muppets Take Manhattan. But you don't one of you to be like Kermit and get hit by a car and lose your memory! But if that does happen, just remember: Kermit would want the show to go on.

And at this point, I don't know what I'm saying.

But Congrats!!!

I'm with Birdie. I want to see that movie. It's been years.

Oh, and I do hope you get to visit me in the ATL en route. I'd visit you, too. Not that I'm big on New York City, but NYC in my mind is more exciting than San Antonio.

Congrats to Dr. Mad Scientist!

No one says you have to live IN Manhattan, you know...where is Mt. Sinai anyway? I hear NY has great public look for a 'burb close by...can't hurt.

Hey!! When we first moved to NYC we actually lived in Jersey City/NJ before moving to the Upper East Side. It was a heck of a lot cheaper and only took 15-20 min. to get into the city on the PATH subway. It takes longer for me to get to work now than it did then, lol.

Hoboken, NJ is an AWESOME area. I'd highly suggest checking it out. If we move again (for a bigger place), we'll probably look there. :)

Congratulations!! Yes, moves are stressful. That's a big one! :) Maybe you could live in Jersey and he could commute. I don't think it takes that long. Probably the same amount of time it takes me to get to work! Good luck and keep us posted!!

We're looking at places in the much cheaper New Jersey.

Mt. Sinai is in Manhattan and there's no way we could live in the city, just too expensive.

But sadly the Muppets never took Jersey.

And if you're going to NJ, you must stock up on Aqua Net so as to practice your big hair now.

Bez in the City! Wheee!

I'm so jealous I could crap.

We don't have big hair. Sheesh! (heh!)

There are lots of great cities on the NJT line and the Path line into the city. Hoboken is the up and comming place and they have a LYS right in town.

You just have to promise not to let out that the entire state in nothing like it's portrayed on tv and in films and there is a perfectly good reason why it's called The Garden State.

"Movin' right along, we'll learn to share the load...we don't need a map to keep this show on the road!" (Ok, I think that's the wrong Muppet movie, but it was the first thing that popped into my head)

Hey, you could get a house in Connecticut and give Martha Stewart a run for her money!

Yay! Congratulations!. I grew up in and around NYC. I moved partly because it was expensive but that doesn't mean you can't find affordable places to live. I know people who lived in Pennsylvania and still made the commute. If you want to stay close--try Queens (Brooklyn's nicer but the price is not). Or move slightly upstate to Putnam County where you can still buy a home for a reasonable price. Avoid Long Island (that's where I'm from) way over-priced.
