Please Don't Wake Me

I had a long rant-y post about the shitiness of being in a Catch-22 of not having a job, needing a job, having a kid, and well yeah you know the rest.

Then the phone rang. My car failed state inspection. The freaking "check engine" light came on. Something about an EGR valve and me bending over to hand them $250 to fix it so I can bring it back Friday to be reinspected.

I'm going to go take a nap.

But I'll leave you with the start of my latest project.

It's a damn good thing I embrace being a cheapass and have no problems knitting from the stash or knitting with acrylic.

Somedays it's just too hard isn't it. I'm so sorry. I'm having a day myself. A nap sounds good. I think I'll have one too.

It has to get better right?

The last two states I've lived in don't have inspection: Thank Goodness! Oh, wait, NY did but it wasn't very strict. That really sucks.

This isn't quite as bad as your problem, but I remember moving my car from California to Maryland and laughing to myself that they required an "emissions test" since California standards are so much stricter than the rest of the nation's! Good luck on the car situation.

I think that instead of "Check Engine" that light should read "Open Wallet" either that or "Bend Over."
Sorry about that junk, that really blows.

I hate that little light. Truly.

That's some of my favorite cheap yarn right there! It is so soft and has such a pretty sheen to it. Makes gorgeous sweaters and scarves.

Oh! Man that sucks! I knew that Nj had inspections I just forgot about them till you said something. Something has to turn up soon. Hand in there! On the job front up here they are having a meeting with the full timers tomorrow. Hope that it is good news but I am not going to hold my breath. Love, Mom

Dane Cook has a funny monologue about going to the garage and your car needing new unicorns in the engine and it costing $7000...

I feel for you - I just had to pay $368 because my car was making a funny sound. Turned out one of the brakes was locked and was grinding itself away.

I'm knitting from stash as well - mostly from guilt in seeing just how much damn yarn I have when I moved...
