Smart

An instant-job finder email in my box today:

THIS IS A JOB NOTIFICATION ONLY. PLEASE DO NOT REPLY TO THIS EMAIL. A job has been posted that matches your profile. Below is a brief summary:

Location: New York, NY
Short Description: personal assistant
Job Requirements: -Smart

If you are interested in this position and would like to apply, please log on to complete the application.

Hm. The only job requirement is "smart."

But the description matches my profile allegedly so I guess I'm smart.

When I looked at the description, it was for a part-time personal assistant job helping someone run a business and two households. Part-time?!?

I think I'll be smart and NOT apply for that one.

Yup, that is definately the smart thing to do. Whaddaya mean run two households? Sounds like they want an assistant and possibly a nanny/maid.

Keep trying, there's bound to be something out there :).

What a weird job! And "Smart"?? That guarantees they'll get idiots. You'll find something great; DEFinitely something less weird!

What if it's someone famous? That'd be kinda cool.

Can you imagine being the person that doesn't qualify for the job? "I'm sorry, the qualifications call for someone smart. But here's something at the car wash that just opened up."

that's definitely the smart thing to do. Maybe they should have included "sucker" in the requirements? :

That's a riot!

My blogstalking has been painfully lax of late, but man do I love your NYC pictures. I especially like the train pic of you and Chunky. He is adorable.

Aww, man, you didn't go into my store?!?

That job reminds me of the Seinfeld where Elaine hires on with that old man as his assistant. She is out buying him socks, never gets a day off etc. Yeah, you are smart for not even looking into that job! Keep looking there is bound to be something there for you. Love, Mom

:::snicker::: I wonder who will answer such an ad? (It should say, "slave needed, people with children and/or lives need not apply."

Well, I agree that it's the right decision to NOT apply for that one! It amazes me what people post on there sometimes!

I know a great job is out there for you. Hopefully one that will allow you enough time to keep your Meanderings going.

See? They were right to have sent it to you. You are pretty smart ... not to apply for a job where you'd likely work your ass off for no pay.

Since when does an assistant help run a HOUSEHOLD????? An office, sure, but a household??? Methinks someone is trying to cheap out...
