It's 10:00 a.m.

And it's 91 degrees outside.

I had to confirm the actual temperature with weather.com. But the cat thermometer was a good indication.

I HATE SUMMER. I realize there are people that thrive on summer and love the hot climates, but try those hot climates without the luxury of air conditioning and get back to me with your thriveability.

As you can see I get cranky when it's hot too.

I was stupid and finished a Christmas present.

It's a wool hat made from some handspun for one of the B6 Clan as they migrate to Denver in the fall.

This one is for Chunky's cousin who is almost exactly 11 months younger than him. Therefore, I used his head as a model. I hope it fits her as Chunky does have a ginormous head.

I put some little bear ears on it to cuten/liven it up a bit. I'd link to the pattern I stole the ears from, but it's poorly written and if you're a newbie knitter, it could be very confusing.

I hope she likes it.

Oh and before I go to baste in some more of my own sweat some more, I'd like state that I stand corrected.

SeƱor Tweed of the Brooklyn persuasion chose a camera as his prop-of-choice in the photo shoot of his latest EZ/Swansen sweater instead of a coffee cup. An interesting choice. I want to say he's only used the camera-prop once before (I'd have to double check that).

And finally--the story behind Whale's Vagina. I guess a majority of y'all don't enjoy the Will Ferrell movies like I do. That is what he calls San Diego, claiming "San Diego" is German for "Whale's Vagina" in Anchorman.

Yup... the cat thermometer is a good measure of the weather. Sally has been sleeping in the living room, rather than directly on top of me - which means it's been consistently over 80F around here. LOL.

No a/c here either but we do have the luxury of a pool in the back yard. The water is now 85 degrees and soon will no longer be refreshing. We do have small air conditioners for the bedrooms but are trying to hold out against them because they cost so much to run. They may go in this weekend. Not because the humans are hot but because the COMPUTER is running hot.

I'm from England and, believe it or not, it sometimes gets really hot in the summer. Like the year I was prego with #1 and it was 100+degrees. And of course, no-one has A/C there! I feel your pain. I refuse to even consider taking my boys to the playpark in the summer months.

The hat is very cute - I like the ears :0)

Very cute kitty hat!

It's been miserably hot here in Cleveland, too. Strangely enough, my cat doesn't seem to mind the heat - she loves sleeping on my sunporch, which feels about 10-15 degrees hotter than the house (no air conditioning other than one window unit). When she does get hot, she goes to sleep in the basement on top of a pile of dirty clothes, LOL!

I like summer until about 75 degrees. After that? Not so much.

I've seen a handful of Will Ferrel movies but don't remember that line. Old School is my fav.

The hat is adorable. Pi said she likes it, so I think a girl around that age will be more than happy.

I feel you with the heat. Its horrible. I'm absolutely not a summer person. I don't like winter either...give me spring or fall anyday!

I hate AC. Gives me a headache. I didn't grow up with it. We would open our windows and turn on fans and that worked just fine. Of course, I grew up in the Adirondacks so it never got as hot as it does down here, but still. I miss that simplicity.

Cute hat. I need to do something with my handspun. The hat shows it off really well. =)

The hat was a great choice for the handspun. I love the colors and the ears on the hat are great. I'm sure she will love it.

I don't like hot weather buit I don't like the cold either. I'l like to find someplace where it stays temperate all the time.

I'm with you - I felt like I was melting every time I had to go outside this weekend. I'm ready for it to be October.

It's always bad when the cats take up bikram yoga. Stay cool!

I've never been happier to have central air. Mmmm...

Hat is very cute!

And Anchorman is probably my least favorite Ferrell movie. I don't think I laughed at all during it. I'm more a Adam Sandler in Billy Madison kinda gail.

Cute hat!! Is that some of your own handspun? I do like it!

You know how I feel about the summer, but we do have A/C in our bedroom (and ceiling fans everywhere else). If I had nothing I may be a bit cranky as well. Yesterday was a bit much if I wasn't sitting directly under/in front of a fan.

the only part of Anchorman that I really remember is the Cat Show.

What a cute hat.

I, too, hate the heat. I just wilt. I can't take the sun. I can't take the humidity. Now. 25F deg is fine with me: cozy up inside with some hot coffee and a wool sweater. But when it's brutally hot and you're already as close to nekkid as you can stand to go, there's nothing to do but sweat.

The good news is the weather's changing here tonight, so your nice weather can't be too far behind.

I think I've seen all the Will Ferrell flicks- I am sure Big Brother would have known that one... should have thought to ask him ;-)

I was just saying the other day that I would rather live where we have to run the A/C four months a year than where it is 20 degrees for four months a year and STILL hot in the summer!
