It's a Sickness

This entire week I've been off, all I've been doing is thinking about cookies.

I've been reading debates about cookies.

I've watching online videos about cookies.

I've been surfing cookie porn on Flickr.

And god help me, I've even been on Barfy Marfy's site looking at cookies.

I'm getting really excited to let my cookie mojo flow the last week of December, but it's getting really hard to restrain myself from going nuts in the kitchen.

Thankfully yesterday I released a little bit of the pent up cookie frustration and made a batch of another old-Christmas standby (I made and blogged about these last year too) toffee cookies.

Mmm... These are for Dr. Mad Scientist's last-day-of-class potluck. He's got a big paper/project due today too. I told him if he doesn't get an A on the paper, these certainly can't hurt his chances.

Toffee Squares

Hopefully baking these will also tide me over til December 30th when I can unleash myself in the kitchen finally!!!

I've been collecting ingredients and tins and am ready. I won't bake anything until this weekend (after the shopping is finished and before the wrapping starts). If I bake too early, they don't stay fresh enough and they get eaten despite all my dire threats. I am feeling cookine lust!

Those look really yummy. I'm going to do some minor baking this weekend for a party, but I plan on doing my majority on Christmas Eve.

Oh! Those look really good!!! Those are a far cry from the sugar cookies that you use to help make when you were growing up. Your Youngset Brother and his Girl Friend helped make them yesterday and they truned out really nice. They decided not to make them "ugly". Plus we made a chocolate sugar cookie and some of your pecan/coconut/chololate chip that you blogged about last year.

ok, stop with the cookies! you are making me so jealous. some of us can't make time to make cookies b/c we've been ordered to bring some stupid garlic bean dip to a party we don't want to attend.

i think holiday stress is getting to me. please ignore everything i've just typed.

I think you should hold a blog contest on how many batches of cookies you're going to bake on the 30th. ;)
