Last Kick

You know how when you're running a race and you start off slow and then near the finish line you crank it up and "kick it" to the finish line?

Yeah me neither. I only run when chased. But Dr. Mad Scientist in his past life was a track/cross country nerd and I picked this competitive running strategy from him.

Anyway--I'm soooooo close to finishing the bigass data project from hell.

But this long weekend I've decided NOT to bring any work home.

Instead I'll be knitting and maybe tackling these.

And hanging with my boys.

Did I mention someone started eating solid food this week?

Good for you! I don't work for another 5 days!! Yeah! They cut our hours cause they put a thrid person on Saturdays and have someone come in to help the children's Librarian for the summer reading program. I really feel lucky if I get my full 20 hours in a week!

But since I am not working I am having a yard sale! Come one! Come all!!

I sympathize with the swimming thing. I took lessons as a kid and I can keep myself from drowning but I am not a graceful swimmer. My heavier than water body just sinks....I've worn glasses since I was about 7 and I'm legally blind at this point. I could never see the instructor either. I would be truly lost without my glasses (can't stand the thought of contacts, I'd have to touch my eyeballs every day!)

Enjoy the work free weekend.
