Inner Dessert

My sister T. has this theory about people.

She believes everyone has an "inner dessert." She has a mini-crusade at her office to bake everyone their "inner dessert" for their birthday.

One of my bosses (Boss #3 in the chain of command) is celebrating her birthday this weekend.

She doesn't like to publicize the fact she's a year older at the office. Which is fine--she shares her birthday with Flag Day. So I just tell people I bring treats in for "Flag Day."

This year I decided to do as the T. does and see if I could channel Boss #3's "inner dessert."

Even though I know I've blogged about these before--I think I nailed Boss #3's "inner dessert."

Boss #3 is always well put together. Even when she's getting 7:30 a.m. wake up calls from one of the partners asking her if she's at work after pulling an all nighter--she looks fabulous.

She's one of those people that has that innate sense of style.

Kind of like the Boston Cream Cupcake--it's sleek and stylish without really trying or being pretentious.

I'm pretty sure my boss isn't full of vanilla pudding though.

I love this concept! I think I might be cheesecake, but I'm going to think about it a little more.

I might be a s'more. Hard and crunchy on the outside, kinda gooey and sticky on the inside, you kind of wonder if it's worth the mess but then you get to the melty chocolate part and it's all good.

Gasp! Those look amazing! How does one get the pudding IN the cupcake?

Ooh, and my inner dessert is a caramel chocolate chip brownie. Crusty edges but sweet on the inside. :)

Hmmm, I'd have to think on that.

I think my inner dessert would be different than my favorite dessert.

I think it would have to be sweet, but not cloyingly so. Something you could have all the time and not get tired of. Something messy but easy to throw together--definitely low maintenance.

Possibly ice cream...or maybe something like a chocolate cream pie...

Great idea with the cupcakes.
Inner dessert? Anything with chocolate! But you know, chocolate is a basic food group(at least in my world!). Love, Aunt Susan

Double Heath Bar Blizzards - sweet and crunchy and sometimes the pieces are a bit sharp.

Clever idea! You have lucky coworkers, getting all those yummy desserts! I pretty much only like chocolate desserts (especially brownies and chocolate chip cookies), with the exception of pound cake. I don't like pies at all. Not even chocolate pies. I also hate Jello. And pastries (if those count as desserts). Yes, I'm sure those officially make me weird!

Those cupcakes look yummy. My inner desert would be chocolate mousse. Smooth and soft and fluffy with dark intense flavors. And with whipped cream for sweetness. Good comfort food

I like the idea of an inner dessert! My first thought when I saw those cupcakes was - Are they lemon? So lemon must be in my inner dessert. Hopefully with cream cheese frosting.

I'm not sure what my inner dessert is. I like to be a Napoleon--layers and layers of goodnes. But I think I'm a red velvet cake.

I'm too impressed with your cupcakes to have even the remotest of ideas about what my inner dessert is. But I bet it's probably messy.
