Staycation: Day 1

And already I've run out of snappy titles.

Today was also productive.

Chunky and I cleaned up his room to make room for as he put it:

"Hey! Me and Moochie are brothers--and now we get to be roommates!"

Ha ha! I wish I had memories of being that excited when my sister came to ruin my five years of having my own room. Not that I remember four of those years.

Anyway, I've killed enough spiders today that if spiders ever take over the human race I will probably be brought up on charges for crimes against arachnoditity.

Don't worry, we're not making him sleep in a laundry basket by that 3rd degree burn machine radiator.

The crib has been moved to Chunky's room. And sofar (it's 9:30 p.m. as I type this) so good. We'll see if he actually sleeps through the night. For the past week the little man has been falling back into that 12:00 p.m./4:00 a.m. party schedule.

Good thing he's cute or I'd have to feed him to the spiders.

What a cute picture of Moochie! And how cute that Chunky is excited about sharing a room with him!

If you think you had it bad sharing a room with your sister for a few years, I didn't have my own room until I was a teenager, and my three oldest siblings had all moved out. At one point as a kid, I shared a tiny bedroom with two sisters. The room was too small for three beds, so my youngest sister and I shared a twin bed. My daughter doesn't know how good she has it, always having had her own room!

And those exposed radiators scare me! As clumsy as I am, I'd probably have burned myself half a dozen time if I had one in my house.

Yeah, treasure the good natured fraternity while it lasts.

You are well overdue for a vacation or staycation or anything really! Everyone needs a break once in a while!!

I was a lucky kid. I never had to share a room with any of my sisters. I'm sure there would have been WW3 had I had to.

OMG, your radiator is BEAUTIFUL. Makes me think of school. Of course, they weren't a funky silver, but oh were they welcome after an hour outside in the cold at lunchtime.

Moochie is beautiful too, but that almost goes without saying ;0)

And my word verification is scram!

Um, tell your readers how you peed your pants when you learned you finally got a sister after two brothers (PEED YOUR PANTS!).

And, you had your own room for 5 years. I had to go to college and PAY for my own room.

That is all.

I can feel the love between the bros. Our kids never had to share a room. When I found out I was PG with Erin, Joe made a bedroom in the basement (which is now being torn up & redone due to a water issue).

Love the pic of Moochie in the basket. He is sooo cute.

Vacation or staycation, I take it. I'm lucky that the hospital gives everyone(full or part-time) paid time off & we don't have to use it by the end of the year. The downside to that is, they limit the number of hours you bank(320). When you reach that, you can take a cash payout(1 time of 100 hrs. or 2 times of 50 hours). If you don't watch it, you will be working without earning any paid time off. Don't want to do that.

Have fun with the boys!!

Love, Aunt Susan

Don't you just love it when family comments on your blog and airs out all the dirty (hee hee) laundry (hee hee hee) (I am twelve, I'm sorry.)

I shared a room with my older brother for 9 years. But it was the master bedroom, and I felt I was gypped when we rearranged the house to give me a room...I got the smallest room, my one, granted, but the area was smaller than my side of the shared room...and it was lonely!

He must be teething. Or growing. Or both. Those two things always mess with mom's sleep.

My, what adorable laundry you have!

I think I told you this before...my sister was born when I was 7 and she moved into my room when she was 1 month old. I begged Mom to take her back really quickly, LOL. I'm glad Chunky is more patient than I was at that age!

We used to have radiators like that. My mom would throw foil over them and put our blankets on the foil to warm them up before bed.

i want to squoosh that little face. He looks so much like you guys too, but i guess you know that. I didn't have to ever share my room, but I still razz my brother about how my princess world came crashing to an end the day he was born. It wont always be easy but they will be the best of friends. very cool

Very awesome photos. Yeah, I always had my own room too. The funny part is that when my brother was born (3 years later), my parents wanted me to move to the GIANT room on the other side of the house, but I refused to give up my much smaller room for the baby.

I must have been omniscient, since for various and assorted reasons my brother's ginormous room was subdivided about a decade later. Muwahahaha ...
