I Wish I Could Turn Into a Pumpkin

But only so I could avoid going to work today.

Spreadsheet Project from Hell #2 is in full swing and I'm not loving it. I also find it very hard to get motivated to do a job that I know the client is getting for free by having me do it. Makes me yearn for the days in Michigan when I charged a paltry $75 an hour for my mad paper pushing skillz.

But hey, let me show you the fruits of my labor this weekend.

Two sugar pumpkins equals 10 cups of processed pumpkin for the freezer.

One of those cups went into these bad boys.

Simple pumpkin chocolate chip cookies.

1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 cup softened butter
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 egg
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon allspice
2 cups flour
1 cup pumpkin
chocolate chips

Cream the sugar and butter. Add the egg and pumpkin. Add everything else. Bake at 350 for 10 to 12 minutes.

Yeah, Twitter sucks. It kept eating my recipe tweets. Ah well.

Those sound like the cookies I use to make. I really liked them, too bad I am the only one here that would eat something like that. Love, Mom

Yey pumpkin season! I love the smell of roasting pumpkins...curiously, it reminds me of "home." Except for the fact that my parents never had anything to do with sweet pumpkins...

I get to go learn about the exciting world of access...or whatever it's called, in between processing yeah, I think the going-to-work feeling is at a low point this week.

I am so NOT a pumpkin person, but it looks like you'll be enjoying the fruits of the weekend's prep work for many weeks to come. Go, you!

I saw your recipe tweet last week!

I made pumpkin chocolate chip cookies last year. I was surprised how well the flavors went together.

I'm not too fond of pumpkins (although I love the orange color), but I love chocolate chip cookies! I don't need any fancy desserts - give me chocolate chip cookies or plain brownies, and I'm content!

My cat, the orange one, goes totally crazy when I get out the can opener and open that can o'pumpkin for the pies long about Thanksgiving time. He loves it more than anything else I can think of--except for shedding.

Ooh, I'm so excited! I have all those ingredients here already. If I'm not too tired tomorrow, I'll try these.

You had to work today? We had off for the Jewish holiday.

Man, that thinking of times when your paper pushing skills were more valued thing sure sounds familiar. I think I want to be a pumpkin, too. Although not a mushed one, even if the cookies do look great...

Thanks for the recipe! You have perfect timing -- I've been craving something pumpkin chocolate chip.

The farmers know their customers. The market caters to ordinary people; the hardcore types all belong to CSAs and get their sugar pumpkins in their shareboxes.
