Weekend Plans

T-Minus 10 days until the In Laws descend upon us.

The project I will tackle this weekend is cleaning the fans.

Ugh. Nasty.

But to my credit, I never really look up at the ceiling much.

In the kitchen that is...I look at the ceiling in the living room a lot. If you're on my Facebook (I nearly typed Fecebook--woah. Freudian slip?) you'll know I've recently whined about the unearthly sounds of the baby vermin that have hatched/spawned in the ceiling. Ugh. The sound just makes your skin crawl and I'm waiting for the day they pop out of my ceiling while I'm watching TV.

I need a Ceiling Cat.

I may take next Monday off to prepare a bit more for the landing. It would be nice to not have a certain little man underfoot.

The big one can only entertain the little one for so long before they both get bored

000_0294.

I'd much rather be quilting or knitting or sewing or reading myself!

Cleaning the ceiling fans is as much a pain as cleaning the mini blinds. I have to do that soon. Yea, soon.

Wait until the little one gets old enough to start squabbling with the older one, ha, ha! I have to deal with "she keeps looking at me!" or "he borrowed my pencils without asking!" or "stop sitting so close to me!" with my two all.day.long - arrggh!

P.S. I'm on Facebook too. That Facebook can be really addictive!

Heh. There's a reason the fan in our living room is never turned off. That way I don't have to see the dust built up on it. :D

I dont know, but "vermin" and "ceiling" never belong in the same sentence. Yikes! I would bitch slap my landlord if she pulled that shit. (that being said, we have the exterminator come every two months like clockwork- yay! We get what we pay for )
In less than 10 days I have no one visiting me, but your brother and I are off to my favorite of places...SoCal- home sweet home- let THEM prepare! That is my favorite of sayings :) Good luck.

Gods, Bezzie, you just about took the words out my mouth. I was about to update my own blog with, "The Outlaws descend in T-3 days". And my own ceiling fan in our schlaftzimmer looks about like yours, only in black. So much for black hiding dirt, eh?

We have a LOT of house to clean, and a glance behind the sofas has revealed that not only have we got dust bunnies but they've evolved, become self-aware, and have formed a progressive jazz trio. I'm pulling the pregnancy card and doing the "I need to put my feet up" thing. I don't care about these people any more than they care about me. Meh.

Your landlord has GOT to get an exterminator out to handle to rodent problem. That is unhealthy all the way around. Good gourds. My ceiling fans run year round. I clean them once to twice a year. Try to enjoy the visit. You and everyone else who actually has family are very lucky, unless they are toxic of course, then they are better left alone. And that is why my husband and I spend most holidays alone.

I've never had a ceiling fan until now. Now we have 4. Mmmm, how long can I get away without cleaning them? lol

My landlord mentioned that squirrels can be a problem in the ceiling and walls. He said if we hear anything to let him know asap because they can cause some major damage apparently.

I hate cleaning for an impending visit. I start LOOKING for grime. And I can always find more...

Will the fans really be looked at??!!?? Are they not coming to visit you and the boys? I know, I know...it is easy to say that, but not so to live with it. Give those ceiling visitors a duster and tell 'em to earn their keep ;-)

Cleaning is overrated. A little dirt never hurt anyone.

Electric fence shocker for the vermin...ask your Uncle Joe.

If you run through the apartment looking up, it's your own fault if you see dirt. What are you doing, staring up like Chicken Little waiting for the sky to fall???
