Dinkle Donkle Dinkle Donkle, Someone's Calling You!

Dear readers, I'm sorry I haven't answered the call of blogging of late.

Best toy ever: Dr. Mad Scientist's old cell phone.

I've been busy being stressed by my lovely job.

I have to clients that are the bane of my existence at that job. Client A and Client B. Usually, they flare up at different times of the year.

Notso this year. March is shaping up to be a doozy of a month with both of these clients having major briefs/response filings due this month, within days of each other.

I haven't been this worn out and stressed in a while. I've got a sexy canker sore in the corner of my mouth as a result and a wonderful cold that another attorney working on the brief for Client B was kind enough to share with me.

Oh how I wish I was pinned down by cuter things rather than stacks of filing and mounds of revisions and timesheets!

But enough bitching and moaning (and kiddie pictures)!!!

I've been doing some knitting. Christmas knitting actually. Yes, I know. Way too early. But the inspiration from a few things just clicked this past weekend and I had to cast on. I could show you, but that person reads this blog.

Instead I'll distract you with cookies.

Not the best picture, they're kind of washed out--but they are delicious! Those are Nutella rugelach. Mmmmm! I went with the cream cheese dough and I also sprinkled mini chocolate chips on top of the Nutella before I rolled them.

Finally, before I go, I'll show you the crazy notion I have in my head.

I'm thinking about embracing my inner five year old girl and sewing myself a dress. If it turns out nicely I might save wearing it for wedding season.

I really like the style of the yellow dress.

Now, will The Beast be able to help me make it?

Stay tuned!

I was thinking the same thing as artfulstarfish! When did Chunky double in size ;) That would be a lovely dress...go you! Um..I'll let you know a sekrit..I talk nicely to my sewing machine sometimes...who knows it could help. I have been known to swear at it too :P

That dress is pretty! I wore dresses a lot in Texas, but don't here. I think it was the fact that the breeze you get up your skirt was so nice in Texas, but unnecessary in Iowa! ;-)

Chunky looks super tall and Moochie is so darn cute with that big smile.

I love love love nutella! I used to make nutella crepes and they were to die for.

Good luck at work! I'm in the same boat right now with work being nuts this month already. Hope it slows down for you soon!

Now why exactly does Chunky look old enough to drive a car? Cute pics! I hope the stress goes away soon. :)

Chunky DOES look older in that pic!!

Those dresses are darling and would look adoooooorable in gingham or a lovely large splashy print. Go for it!

*a little jealous because dropped waists are wretched on me*

Chunky better watch out it looks like Moochie is catching up to him!
That is a cute dress. Yes, you will be able to make it. It has all the seams in the right places to make any adjustments that you may need.

The boys are getting so big! Your boys remind me of Sean & Sam when they were little.

Cookies look yummy...as usual.

I have faith you can make the dress. It will be great for summer.

Love, Aunt Susan

Moochie's wearing Robeez! My kids lived in those things as toddlers. Chunky looks like the world's coolest older brother.

I like the yellow dress too. Bow or no bow?

Those cookies look awesome. Nutella is my daughter's favorite spread for bagels. Unfortunately, it's one of those things I often forget at the grocery store, and so she improvises, and puts chocolate chips on her bagels. Smart girl :).

I like the green one better - my front doesn't need any bows!

I own one dress, I wear it for any and all weddings/christenings/fancy parties. If I could I'd copy it and have many of the exact same dress at my disposal. If you like that yellow dress and it works for you? I'd do the same :).

Pretty dress pattern -- and does it include pocketbooks? You're all set!

Hope the stress level subsides soon. (Resolutely avoids looking at the Nutella rugelach of pure temptation.)

Hmmm, I've never eaten Nutella, but chocolate chips sound good!

I had to take a look at the picture of the boys again after reading the comments about how tall Chunky's gotten - he does look tall for a 9 (he's 9, right?) year old! I used to feel so pitifully short when I'd volunteer at my daughter's old school, and even the 6th grade girls were taller than me!

That's a pretty dress pattern. I really like the lime green one - I have a thing for glaringly bright colors and huge floral prints!

Chunky IS looking quite tall! What size pants is he wearing? If he's anything like mine, he's outgrowing them quite quickly. I hear Old Navy is having a good sale on kids clothes....

As for the dress....bring the Beast and your fabric down this way....we can have a sew in! I have a dress that I want to make for a wedding....I need a push on it. You can totally do it!

I realized I haven't had a dress on since Fall. I used to wear them more often during the winter but have gotten out of the habit. I'll wear them frequently in the summer. I was thinking of making myself some summer skirts/dresses for work. If I start now, I might have one finished before the hot weather sets in.

The cookies look really good. I love rugelach.

Mmmmm...Nutella...

How cool would it be if my cell phone actually said "Dinkle Donkle Dinkle Donkle" when it rang? That would be so. awesome.

Yes, make the dress on the Beast! It will give Grandpa Singer something to aspire to. The yellow dress is lovely! I have to admit, though, I immediately feel in love with the green one!

I like the green one better too. It's the same as the yellow one, but the sleeves on the yellow one look uncomfy to me. Also, I have informed my inner child that there will be no bows in front. Maybe you could make the bow have a Jackie 0./Michelle O'bama. elegant look, though. It'll be fun to see your version.

An easy remedy for the sore in the corner of your mouth is to eat legumes regularly. This really works wonders.
