Dog Days

Blech.

It's been hot.

I haven't really done anything exciting as a result. We've been cooped up inside except for the occasional dip in this in the backyard.

Chunk and Mooch love it. And that Mooch is a freaking natural in the water. I never thought I'd have a kid that WANTED to glunk his head underwater!

Other than rocking my Mom Suit in the kiddie pool we've been indoor hermits in the heat.

Man, I can't WAIT for fall/winter when I can snuggle with that damn cat again and not get a sweaty crotch*, bake to my heart's content, and wear sweaters I knit!

Until then, I'll just have to envy the lilies that seem to be digging this weather. Blech.

They can have it!

* Yes, my Springs is a dirty Old Man Cat. I wake up every night in the middle of the night with him sleeping on my crotch.

I really miss our pool. Although I know that realistically, we wouldn't have used it because no one is home to keep it clean and I'd have to do it when I get home. But I still miss jumping in and the coldness taking the heat out of my body.

My cat wants nothing to do with us in the heat. Ane we are surprisingly ok with that.

My cat prefers my hubby...wonder why?? Yeah, the heat stinks! I bet the pool helps a bit. I so can't wait for cooler weather...and maybe permanently! (fingers crossed)

Ha! My word verification is wanting I kid you NOT!

I'm jealous that you have a pool, even a kiddie one. We didn't get a membership to the community pool (missed it by 20 people, blah!), so it's been HOT for us. Pi goes with the neighbors alot though.

hahahaha @ the pizza eating, crotch sleeping cat.

As much as I love my shorts and flip-flops (Teva Mush sandals=most comfortable footwear EVER), I'm also a fan of the cooler weather. Fall for the win!

LOL about Springs! My cat is like a teenager - she's only nice to me when she wants something. The rest of the time she acts like I don't exist, and God forbid I try to pet her - it either gets rewarded with a bite, or her running away from me. Yet, she loves my husband, who claims he doesn't like cats. Between the cat and my nearly teenaged daughter, who alreayd has the teenager attitude, my feelings are getting hurt left and right, ha, ha!

LOL! Well at least you have AC to cool you down a bit. When I was growing up down in the Midwest we didn't. Needless to say I spent most of my time in the basement and only came out when I HAD to!
Love, Mom

What a great kiddie pool... complete with pool cover. Clearly, I haven't been keeping up with the latest advances in kiddie pools.

Dog days and a crotch cat? Um....

Ugh, I hear you. I like summer as well was the next person (unless the next person is you ;)), but it was over 90 degrees last night when I got home from the gym - at 8freakingpm.

When we were in our twenties, before kids, we would routinely buy kiddie pools for us to sit in. Just the rigid plastic ones that are about a foot deep.

I hope it's moderating a bit out your way.

Nothing better in summer than a backyard pool.
