Week 3: Wrath of the Cheechakos

December 26: 22" of snow.

January 7: maybe an inch of snow.

January 12:

I love my snow, but holy cow, the hysteria!

I mean when you start out the snow-year with nearly 2 feet of snow, doesn't 6 to 10 inches seem, I don't know, kind of wussy?

Despite the wussy factor, hopefully the Powers That Be at work will call it a snow day. My office is the last one to call it.

The boys all have tomorrow off.

Any snow at all is too much snow for me. I'd gladly move somewhere south, if not for my fear of bugs - probably the only thing I hate worse than snow. All it took was my husband telling me about the giant flying cockroaches he used to see when he lived in Texas as a kid - ewww!.

I spent nearly 2 hours on a jam-packed bus today because of snow (normally a 40 minute bus ride - 15 minute drive) after work. At least I'm fortunate that I get on at the very first stop downtown, and got a seat, instead of having to stand the entire way home.

I'm hoping my kids have a snow day tomorrow, so I have an excuse to stay home from work, ha, ha!

I'm just sad I can't do anymore sledding. :(

Here's hoping you get a snow day too!

Hope you get your "Snow Day"! I wish there was something called a "Wind Day"!! It has been blowing up here like there is no tomorrow! The dust in the air is awful! And the dust getting into the house is terrible! (It doesn't help that the stupid guys doing the construction across the street have to dig and load a dump truck!)

Love, Mom

I know it. This is a crazy winter so far. My work STILL hasn't called it. I really hope they do. I have an hour ride ahead of me in GOOD weather. Ugh.

We're now having our 3rd 'snow day' off school. The snow froze into thick ice yesterday. Hope you get your
snow day today :0)

yea, I had the same feeling. As I listened to the SNOW!!! forecasts, I thought 'eh, 10 inches'. But, I stayed home today. Not much going on at work and I had a vacation day so I used it. I could have shoveled myself out and gone in but why?

We ended up with ~10", not 24"... but the phone rang at 6am nonetheless to say that daycare is closed (whereas every other place cancelled last night). We're a branch on the phone tree and had five parents to call to pass on the message... one of the numbers was wrong, so some poor sod was jerked awake courtesy of our daycare center ;-)
Stay warm!

Wow. I hope you got a snow-day. Here in Tex-ass it's in the 30s and everyone is freaking out. I'm pretty sure that the city would be shut down at the mere sight of a snowflake.

I'm so over the snow now, especially since it iced over. I busted my toosh this morning.
