Top O'The Brownies To Ya!

My younger sister has a theory about bringing brownies to work.

You have to take the first brownie so that people won't be hesitant to take the first on themselves.

These are Virgin Irish Cream brownies. They're OK. Not as Irish Creamy as I would have hoped, but meh, what are you going to do?

They're made with Bailey's Irish Cream Coffee Creamer instead of the real deal.

They're coming to work with me. 90% of the women in the office started Weight Watchers yesterday. They held their meeting at work in one of the conference rooms -- and totally jacked up the conference room scheduling. And everyone participating took their normal one hour lunch plus an hour for WW.

I've got nothing against Weight Watchers, and I can let the conference room thing slide. But a two hour lunch?

I'll be a passive-agressive little lunch-deprived leprechaun bringing tempting brownies in today.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I'd do the same! I understand the going to WW thing but it should count as your lunch hour. It hits me like smokers taking 15 minute breaks every hour. How fair is that?

We made soda bread and Irish Potatoes last night. Only I'm not sharing with my coworkers.

Why do they need an hour to eat their weight-watching lettuce?! Brownies are good with, or without additions :0)
Happy St Pats to you :0)

Happy St Pats!
I agree with Donna Lee, WW should be their lunch hour not an extra hour. As for the smokers every place I have worked they only get 15 minutes twice a day if they are full time and one 15 minutes if they are part time. Everyone else gets 15 minute breaks also.
The brownies look good!

That's funny about breaking into the pan and true! My mother once told me to wash my hands and dry them on the hand towels in the bathroom so people would understand it was okay to use them when we had people over.

The WW thing would bug me, isn't that their lunch hour?

And wait a minute!? Don't WW meet every week? Are they going to get a weekly 2 hour lunch? Wrong...

Yeah, I take WW as my hour lunch here...that's absurd!

I've taken a 2 hour lunch....on a day when I know I won't be missed. I could let the 2 hour lunch slide, not the conference room thing. I routinely kick people out of conference rooms for being in there when not scheduled. But I'm a beeyotch like that. :)

I might have to try an addition to my brownies...hmmmm.

Shame on you Bezzie, ha, ha! I agree about the brownies (or any sweets at work) - no one wants to look like a pig, taking the first piece.

My boss brought in green frosted cupcakes with chocolate shamrocks on top, and green frosted shamrock cookies, so between those and all the Girl Scout cookies from my daughter I have at home, I'll be lucky not to gain any weight this week. And my boss took the first cupcake, so I didn't feel bad taking one.

P.S. Those brownies look delicious - brownies and chocolate chip cookies are my favorite desserts.

I would've done exactly the same thing, and I'm a WW veteran. Did you get any, "Oh, you shouldn't have done that, it's sooo tempting" comments? It'd be really hard not to say, "Well, *I* don't have a problem with my weight and no one's making YOU eat anything..."

You need to move to the Pacific NW, we're all about the passive agressive here ;).

But truly! I'd join WW if it meant a 2 hr lunch! Except for the money involved...wait...now my accounting brain is going: If they are paying x amount per week/month for WW and it is less than or equal to their regular pay rate...WW is FREE! And/or work is then PAYING them to attend their meetings...(coming from someone who has no idea what it costs to be a WW).

I say more sweets at the office are required. It's almost a moral imperative! :)

Those look really good! Are you serious that they let them take an extra hour for WW? My job would have a fit!!

Totally agree with you about the 2-hour WW. Yay, brownies!

That totally isn't fair that they get 2 hrs when others only get an hr.

The brownies look delicious & sound really good about now.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmm brownies. *drool* So, is work paying for their WW meeting fees? Do your bosses know they are planning on taking 2 hour lunches every week? Given what you have said about the bosses, I don't think they would approve.....I know it would piss me off if I wasn't getting a 2 hour lunch too!
