Wake Me Up When September Starts

Seriously.

This summer crap is for the birds.

It was something like 116 degrees today in Noorick. I always thought it was weird that Newark always seemed hotter than our town, even though they're only 7 miles apart. Now I have proof it's not my imagination.

When the heat goes up, the cranky level of my fellow humans seems to increase too. Be it even more excessive car honking than normal to people being shot.

I seriously think if Newark could bring down their average temperature a few degrees they might see the homicide rate go down.

Tomorrow is supposed to be "cooler." Only 98 degrees.

I would love to finish Chunky's Harry Pooper Weasley Sweater this weekend, but it's just too hot!!

Instead, after I do my Saturday cleaning, I think I'll hit the "pool" with the Cousteau brothers.

012

And we'll probably enjoy some more of this...

Rocky Road Ice Cream

Cookie of the Week has been replaced with Ice Cream of the Week until it's cool enough to start the oven back up!

This week is rocky road. I love this because for some reason store bought rocky road contains marshmallow swirl these days. I like mini-marshmallows in my rocky road! Swirl just isn't right!

And finally, I'll be dreaming of late winter snowstorms--

Ahhhhh! Stay cool people!

We just had ice cream after the child went to sleep... although I'd been planning on baking AND cooking tonight... but after hitting 104-ish there's no way that oven is going on. Stay cool!

Tell ME about the heat!!! We got the car aout of the "car hospital" and so went to Home Depot to exchange the paint that we were going to exchange when the car dies on us, and as we were going past some of the temp signs they all were reading 77!!!! I know to you all it is not HOT but to us Alaskans it is!! I am sitting here with the fan on in what is going to become the quilting room.

LOVE the picture of the boys!! I hope Moochie is not going to try and go anywhere....those goggles are on crooked and it looks like he can't see out of them.

Darn! I'm not down there to have some of that ice cream!!

Love, Mom

It's digusting out there. I can't deal. Totally hibernating inside this weekend with the AC on, electric bill be damned. Speaking of ice cream, I just tried (well last night, not now at 6:30 am, haha) turkey hill's double dunker. So good... mocha ice cream with chunks of cookie dough and oreo. Yum!

Stay cool!!

Ice cream sounds like a good idea. PeeWee asked for some earlier, I wonder if we have all the ingredients on hand to make some- yum!

I just tried my hand at my first batch of chocolate ice cream :) (Just put it to "ripen" in the freezer, literally). I thought of adding nuts and marshmallows...but it seemed to advanced for me...(this was my 5th batch of ice cream, ever).

Unless you have the AC unit blowing at you, ditch the sweater. The boys need Cousteau hats, yep, nice, small, not lap warmers :). And out of something superwash so you can sit in the pool :).

We spent the weekend sitting inside as still as possible with the window units running. I shudder to think about the electric bill.

I am working on the Christmas socks while the temps are too hot to consider anything larger. Hopefully, we are past the worst. For now.

I know that most of the country is suffering in the heat right now, but I just can't manage to feel any sympathy. We *still* haven't gotten a proper summer around here, going on something like 150 days of 'below average' temperature and double our normal amount of rain. It's killing me. If I could trade you the clouds & rain for some HOT HOT HOT - I would.

Perhaps this is a bit off topic but in any case, I have been surfing about your website and it looks really neat. Impassioned about your writing. I am creating a new blog and hard-pressed to make it appear great and supply excellent stories. I have discovered a lot on your site and I look forward to additional updates and will be back.

That is the proper weblog for anybody who wants to find out about this topic. You understand so much it’s almost exhausting to argue with you (not that I really would need…HaHa). You positively put a new spin on a subject that’s been written about for years. Great stuff, just nice!

The music is always admirable. We need to do something that is worthwhile and amazing. Who cares as long as we are happy? I am the one who witness the performance...

Your idea is outstanding; the issue is something that not enough people are speaking intelligently about. I am very happy that I stumbled across this in my search for something relating to this.
