Peter Piper

May have picked a peck of pickled peppers...

But I also finally fulfilled a craving I've had for years now.


I finally pickled some jalapeno (and some habanero) rings.

I didn't grow these (I've got tabasco peppers in the pot garden right now) though--I picked them up at the farmers' market.

I like sticking them on nachos, or perhaps just eating them straight out of the jar!

I can only tolerate jalapenos in very small amounts - too hot for me!

Mmmmm I am now craving hot pickled carrots...
(Same idea, just one pepper and many diagonally cut carrots and a few pieces of onion for fun and whimsy.)

My husband is a jalapeno freak. I however am not. I do want to start canning one day! I'm still just a little chicken to try. Love those tiny jars!

They look like hell in a jar to me. I inadvertently ate a jalapeno as part of a meal the other night and couldn't catch my breath it was so hot.

I don't like food that hurts.
