Cast Off!

No, I'm not finishing a project.

Today Chunky gets his cast off!

They don't like to keep elbows immobilized for too long as it apparently leads to loss of motion in the end. So as soon as the bone is healed, off comes the cast.

He's still got to take it easy until Thanksgiving--which will be hard for him to do without the cast there to constantly remind him to do so.

But it's a start!

That seems so fast. But then those young bones heal quickly (thank goodness!)

He ought to love the fact that they saw it off.

Hooray for Chunky getting his cast off! I hated having a cast when I broke my wrist a few years ago - the itching under the cast (and not being able to scratch it) drove me crazy! It was such a relief to get it off. Can Chunky get some kind of removable brace for his elbow to help protect it until it's fully healed?
